A Kick up the Arse

G. A Twedily

In the Montreal summer of 1998, Hamish McTavish’s dreams for Scottish World Cup glory and one month of lazy, stoned soccer watching pleasure started badly. His beloved Scotland – the country of his conception – lost the opening game of the World Cup, but more worryingly he received an unexpected visit from a friendly thief who made him a tempting, if illegal, job offer.

The manipulative thief tries to insidiously work his way into the previously uneventful life of an unwitting and stoned Hamish, who does his best to resist while coming to terms with his new, unasked for, reality.

As the teams at the World Cup battle for supremacy in France, Hamish and the thief begin their own private battle of wills, but how does a novice take on an experienced and potentially dangerous foe?
